December Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

Just noticed that this post didn't get posted! Must have been the craziness of the holidays! :)

Finshed my scrapbook page for the month of December, my FINAL page for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar... and since I'm not sure when S.E.I. will release another calendar kit in the future, it was with a bit of a sad sigh that I finished this page.

Used a picture of the hubby putting up the xmas lights on our tree that we lovingly called "Betty"; putting the lights on the tree is one of his favorite traditions he loves to wrap himself in :).  I used Cricut Joys of the Season cartridge to cut the stars and the pine cones.  I then used a the Martha Stewart bow punch to decorate; and different color pebbles as lights on the stars.  Really enjoyed working with this layout; gave me room to add my own touches.

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! :)

November Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

I was able to finish my scrapbook page for the month of November created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar. I am so sad to find out that S.E.I will not be making a 2010 S.E.I. Calendar kit :( ; I 've been doing this for 3 years now and I come to enjoy them very much; I looked around for other calendar kits, but found them to be less of a blank canvas which means less room for me to put my own personal touches. Plus most of them are not 12x12, but as small as 6x6! And I refuse to buy a blank calendar where I have to write in the months and dates myself! No way! :) But I will have to figure something out, because I do want to do a calendar for next year. Will have to see.

I also wanted to play with this week Simon Says Challenge, where Simon Says....Give Thanks! A very fitting challenge for this month :). I am a little surprise how close Thanksgiving Day is - pretty much around the corner!

This is my take on the challenge:

That is the hubby being thankful that the turkey came out of the oven looking juicy and yummy! :) And with this layout I am giving thanks for him, for all the moments we share and for the sense of family we cherish. I created the sentiment using my darling Cricut and Cricut Design Studio to weld the Turkey and the sentiment. The sentiment is from the new Designer's Calendar cartridge and the cute Turkey is from Speaking of Fall cartridge. The Speaking of Fall cartridge is a cartridge which makes letters out of Fall theme icons, so the turkey is suppose to be a capital "D", in this case for "Day".

Really like how S.E.I. doesn't theme the months on their calendar other than trying to use colors/patterns appropriate for that month in a very subtle way. It lets me decide what to do with the pre-existing layout and offers me a blank canvas to put my own touches to it. I will definetely miss that! :)

Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend! Thanks for stopping by! :)

October Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

This weekend I was able to work on my scrapbook page for the month of October created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar.   The pattern paper is a bit more busy than I am use to working with but I ended up really liking the dimension it gives to this predesign layout.

These are my nieces celebrating last year's Halloween; one of them was a cute little witch, the other was a "16th century princess" - her idea and no one is quite sure where that idea came from! :)  I cut the witch hat using my Cricut and added some purple glass glitter from Cat's Pajamas Hocus Pocus Glitzy.  I topped it with an orange button and a black gem.  I also cut the spider using my Cricut and added a purple button with an orange gem.  I added those Martha Stewart FUN spider web corners to the picture; and those Martha Stewart spooky owls were the perfect size to add to the spooky tree I cut using my Cricut.

Halloween is so much FUN; we really enjoy all the trappings :).  The girls always look forward to dressing up; and I'm looking forward to what they come up with this year! :)

September Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

I got a somewhat early start on posting my scrapbook page for the month of September created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar.

I really like the colors of this pre-design layout- bright fall colors. I used those colors along with my darling Cricut to add my own touch to it.

Had a great time making this month page. Really impressed with the way the Lyrical Letters and Storybook cartridge cut the dies; even the sentiment "heart blessing" cut nicely even when the letters were so dainty :) . The die cuts really enhance the picture and matched the pattern paper nicely.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

July Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

Happy 4th of July!!!! :) In light of that, this is the scrapbook page for the month of July created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar.

Inspiration for this page came quickly after taking a look at this week's challenge at Bitten by the Bug (BBTB), where Regina challenged us to use the freedom cut from the Graphically Speaking cartridge. The BBTB design team did a GREAT job with their various projects using this cut. I combined this cut with a cut from my new Stand and Salute cartridge that I also bought after seeing BBTB highlight it; it has a bunch of cuts that I could see myself using! :) I used a white gel pen to dress up the freedom cut and added a border of gems for fun.

Enjoyed myself so much making this page, thinking about all that I am grateful for.

Have a great relaxing weekend!

June Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

This is the scrapbook page for the month of June created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar. June is my sister's birthday month and I wanted to create a simple page that said it all :) so this is what I came up with:

Really enjoyed keeping it simple and working with the colors of this page. My only regret is that I got a late start this month and didn't get this page done sooner! Too many things got in the way - glad I finally got it done; I did want to celebrate my sister and all the things that make her and I different! :)

May Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

This is the scrapbook page for the month of May that I created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar. I am not quite sure where April went, but suddenly I had to do a page for May. I used another new Martha Stewart butterfly punch, this one catches my eye for it pretty silhouette look.

Again this month, I used my Cricut Home Decor cartridge for all the element on this page. From the title, to the CUTE birdies on a branch with the pretty flowers. I also used a Marvy Uchida tiny daisy punch that make a pretty flower center. I really like how this page came together, specially because I wanted to highlight a special lady in my life that has always inspired me and I admire. May is her birthday, and I wanted to celebrate her. :)

Scrapbook Calendar 2009 - January

I really enjoy Scrapbooking; but to be honest, I don't have the time I use to have when I first started to indulge in creating layouts. I didn't want to stop though, so I decided that maintaining a calendar is better than nothing. For 2009 I scrap most of 2008 and so forth. At the end of the year, I know I will have at least 12 pages and that is better than nothing :)...

I have used for the past 3 years (2007-2009) the S.E.I 12x12 Calendars. This year I have seen many come out on the market; but these are still the best one for me because I think all elements come together very nicely with the pre-designed layout; while still giving you room to add an extra special touch!

Here is my JAN:

These are my sisters; and my sister's dog {Bellisima} Bella :)...

Supplies:
SEI 12x12 Calendar 2009
"Woof" welded with a Paw - cut using Cricut Paper Pups and Design Studio
Border flakes - cut using Cricut Storybook
"Warm & Cozy"- one of those very cute stamp from g Studio
