Thanks! / ESS Sketch #93

We visited my in-laws earlier this month and they send us home with a luggage full of amazing Puerto Rican cuisine, frozen and nicely packaged!  So I wanted to make them a card thanking them for their thoughtfulness.

This is what I came up with:

I started off with this week ESS Sketch #93 created by Tracy Clemente from Eat, Sleep, Stamp blog. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, really like the simplicity of her sketches that act like a blank canvas for some FUN creativity.

I used this whimsical butterfly stamp from Inkandinkado Fancy That set that also included the sentiment.  I thought it was perfect for this DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies pattern paper that had a lot going on, flowers and butterflies oh my!

I combined it with this plaid pattern paper that coordinates while tones down the busy pattern paper.  Of course I had to keep going with the FUN butterfly theme by using this Martha Stewart butterfly edge punch and embossing some flowers onto the blue shimmer paper.  I then finished off the whimsical look by adding some matching gems, oh yeah! :)

Coloring the image was just too much fun, really appreciate those copics!  I cut out the image and laid it on the pattern paper and it blends in nicely; whimsical on whimsical :) ....

I'm hoping you guys are having a nice weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Make A Splash! / TCP TUESDAY #119

I had the chance this weekend to play along with this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge #119 hosted by the very talented Leigh from the Sunflower Studio blog.  Leigh had a FUN sketch for us and challenged us to use it! I needed to make a card for a care package so I wanted something sunny and FUN!

Here is what I came up with:

I used TCP By The Sea clear set, where I have been wanting to ink this cute penguin for a while now this summer.  I used my Cricut to cut out this sun like shape to frame the image.  I then used this DCWV Summer Stack where I found all these coordinating sunny paper that easily go so nicely together.  I got my new TCP Kitty Kat Pack stamp order that contained all the new TCP stamps released last week.  Can't wait to ink some of these new images!  A great value, this pack also included 3 different die, one of them being this Button Die that cut nicely on my Cuttlebug.  I cut the buttons using a matching dark blue glitter paper.  I also use some red stickles to add sparkle to his floating buddy.

Had a great time making this card and really loving this image!  Thanks for stopping by!

Bday Mint Ice Cream Sundae/ ESS Sketch #92

It has been a while since I played along with Tracy Clemente's ESS Sketches that she creatively comes up with every Thursday.  But that doesn't mean that I wasn't using her sketches as inspiration, her Eat, Sleep, Stamp site is a great source for some much needed mojo!

My friend's birthday was yesterday and I wanted to make a card using this Impression Obsession -IO Sundae Kisses image.  She just got an ice cream maker that she is enjoying using and thought this would be perfect!  But I was drawing a blank on the layout.  Thought of Tracy's sketches and found the inspiration I was looking for in this week ESS Sketch #92.

Here is what I came up with:

The sweet IO sentiment also fit nicely :).  I paper pieced the ice cream bowl and glazed the cherry.  I also used Martha Stewart fine iridescent white glitter for the whip cream.   The ice cream is suppose to be Mint flavored ice cream with some hot strawberry fudge on it.  I love the taste of this combination.  I could eat it all day!

Here is Tracy's Sketch.  I made a few interpretations like making the oval big enough to fit my cute sundae.  Love the strips because it allowed me to use a the busy cherry pattern paper without overwhelming the card.  And got to use a cute edge punch!

This image makes me want ice cream! AND an ice cream maker does sound like fun... hmmmm, the possibilities..... wishlist!

Thanks for stopping by!

June ATC card for Swap

For last month's ATC Swap hosted by Tracy Clemente from Eat, Sleep, Stamp blog, I decided I wanted to do a FUN summer card. I am really enjoying being part of this talented group and find myself looking forward to their creations every month!  I was inspired to use Cat's Pajamas Nightie Alphabet set by a TCP Tuesday challenge last month.  Unfortunately I was out of town so I didn't get to post it until now.

Poochie looks just AWESOME with his surf board and he looks like he is having a FUN time.  Poochie is from Cat's Pajamas Fun in the Sunlove this set. I used Cricut Life is a Beach cartridge to create a palm tree frame for Poochie to chill under.  In my stash, I found this DCWV Summer Stack pattern paper that matched perfectly!

Hope the ladies liked it as much as I had FUN making it! :)

Mr & Mrs Wedding Card

Earlier this month, we attended my husband's sister's wedding and we had a nice time! I wanted to make the lovely bride and the handsome grooom a fun yet elegant card. This is what I came up with.

The base of the card is this copper color shimmer paper from DCWV Shimmer Stack. I used the gold leafy glitter paper from DCWV Linen Closet stack along with my Cricut Sweetheart cartridge to cut the "Mr & Mrs" scallop piece. I then cut the wedding cake and the rings using Cricut Tie the Knot cartridge and added matching gold pearls to the cake. Really like how the cake came out!

This is the inside:

Had such a great time making this card and playing with the two different cartridges.

July Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

Realized I had not posted my calendar scrapbook page for the month of July.  Really like the fun bubbly colors of this layout.

The "splashin'" is pink chipboard letters included in this calendar kit.  The picture is of my sister-in-law and my nieces enjoying a cool dip in the pool.  I added some flip-flops cut using my Cricut Life is a Beach cartridge.  I used an EK bubble edge punch on the photo frame to continue the bubble theme.

A FUN layout that came together nicely :)!
