TCP Tuesday Challenge - TCPTUES64

This week TCP challenge, is an inspirational challenge, where Toni pick a purrfect HOT days of summer inspired picture - I took one look and I knew I was going to have some FUN playing!

As always, I tend to be a little literal in my interpretations - so my first thought was to recreate the yummy looking drinks - and of course what says more FUN than a cool MARGARITA on a HOT summer day... or night! :)

Here is my take on this challenge:

This does look YUMMY! I used my darling Cricut to cut the margarita glass from a cut file created by Heather G from Handmade by Jade who generously shared it on her blog - Heather did a great job on this one! You can't tell very well, but I cut another layer using a transparency to add a glass like shine and I used Martha Stewart coarse glitter to add the yummy "salt". And of course, I had to use this sentiment from TCP It's A Mod, Mod World set because it went so purrfectly with the margarita theme - and I was in luck when I found this DCWV pattern paper in my stash. I pulled the colors directly from there and this card just came together nice and easy! :) I created a wine glass beaded tag out of some bendable wire and beads - it adds dimension and it is a FUN touch.

Have a relaxing weekend, enjoy the hot days of summer!

Father's Day Card and Gift

I had to make a quick father's day card for a family member; and I wanted it to match this gift bag I found at M's made out of recycle paper. The colors are bright and just right for a masculine gift :)!

Here is what I was able to make rather quickly:

I got out my darling Cricut and the Wild Cards cartridge to cut the sentiment and marsh grass. I then took out my Cuttlebug and a new QuicKuts Plants embossing folder to add a bit of dimension. I used a Martha punch to finish it off.

Supplies:
"Happy Father's Day"- cut using Cricut Wild Cards and Design Studio
marsh grass - cut using Cricut Wild Cards and Design Studio

New Mommy /ESS Sketch #41

My very best of friends is a new mommy and with that comes a bunch of new sets of worries - like making sure they do their business on a regular basis and fretting when they don't :) - this card is made with her in mind and I really hope it makes her smile :)!

I really wanted to keep it simple, so this is my take on this week sketch:

For this week Eat Sleep Stamp ESS Sketch #41, Tracy Clemente gave us a sketch with a oval element; left pretty wide open to many ideas! :)

I found this cute baby and sentiment on an Inkandinkado set called Petit bonhomme; this set made me laugh when I saw it and I had to have it :)

TCP Tuesday Challenge - TCPTUES62

This week TCP Challenge is hosted by Susan and she is into PENGUINS! She seems to really enjoy these darlings as much as I do! So she challenged us to pull out our TCP penguins. My first thought was - this is great, I get to use this adorable penguins and yummy cupcake image (from Smells Like Cake) - alright!!! :)

Here is my take on the challenge:

I found this bright and colorful DCWV Nana's Kids pattern paper with glitter stars that reminded me of the star on the image. I used this FUN candle border punch to go along with the birthday theme:)! I also used yellow stickles on the star and on the candles to match the glitter on the PP. I tried to pull colors from the PP, and I think I overdid it a bit :) but overall it was a FUN card to make!

Thinking of You / ESS Sketch #40

This week seemed to have flown by and I was disappointed not to have had time to complete this card I started and finished in parts.

This is my take on this sketch:

Needless to say, I am too LATE to properly participate in this week Eat Sleep Stamp ESS Sketch #40 ; but I really do enjoy playing with ESS sketches and the group of very creative people who join regularly; so even though it is late, I am glad I played :) This past week, Tracy Clemente had a really FUN sketch that consisted of tag element! :) Not sure when the last time I used a tag on a card, so it was FUN to do so on this one!

I immediately thought of my Cricut and honed in on the Wedding cartridge and this tag with a swirl - so I gave it a try! :)

In keeping with the swirl idea; I chose this Inkandinkado Collage Expression set and this birdie stamp with swirls sitting on a branch; I used my new atyouspica soft colors to match the shimmer of the background paper. This card is a little outside my comfort zone, but I am happy with the results :)!

Have a good weekend!

June Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

This is the scrapbook page for the month of June created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar. June is my sister's birthday month and I wanted to create a simple page that said it all :) so this is what I came up with:

Really enjoyed keeping it simple and working with the colors of this page. My only regret is that I got a late start this month and didn't get this page done sooner! Too many things got in the way - glad I finally got it done; I did want to celebrate my sister and all the things that make her and I different! :)

Supplies:
SEI 12x12 Calendar 2009
"it's all good" - cut at 4'' using Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge
pebbles from M's

TCP Tuesday Challenge - TCPTUES61 / Mojo Monday 89

For this week TCP Challenge, Jen from I {heart} 2 stamp, has a color combo challenge for us and wanted us to use 3 colors: brown, yellow and aqua with red being optional. These colors bring SUMMER to mind! Nice and bright, I decided to use all four--they were so much fun to use!

I immediately took out the newly released TCP summer set, Happy Camper. I gotta say that this new set is something refreshing and not the usually stamps I tend to buy. But I immediately felt a liking to to the images and the sentiment; thinking I could find some FUN ways to use them! This new The Cat’s Pajamas swanky set can be found here so check them out (great deal)!

And when I saw this week Mojo Monday Sketch 89, I just knew I wanted to use it - their sketches are great but I don't always play, so it is fun to do so when I can! :)

Here is my take on both these challenges:

Isn't that sentiment just FUN??? From the moment I got these stamps, I knew I had to ink the bear! And after seeing some amazing blog and gallery post by the TCP design team, I was inspired to do so.

The background PP is from an old DCWV summer stack, but it reminds me of picnic linen; totally goes well with the sentiment and that cute bear holding the smore! I can't take credit for that idea; but there was something about this cute bear, the fire and the smore that I had to recreate for myself! The leaves are felt; adding a bit of texture and goes nicely with the camp theme. Can you tell I had a lot of fun making this card?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the weekend!

Thank You Card / ESS Sketch #39

This week I needed a thank you card for my aunt who hosted us a few weeks ago. She is one fabulous cook and it was a lot of FUN - and I wanted her to know that :)

Here is my take on these two challenges:

I turned to this week's Eat Sleep Stamp ESS Sketch #39 - another FUN sketch from Tracy Clemente. The sketch was easy to work with, with another great chance to use an edge punch or a pretty ribbon :)!

I pulled randomly Birds and Branches set and decided to ink this cute birdie for the first time - there is something about this image that makes me smile :)

I combined this challenge with this week Simon Says Stamp Challenge, themed Animals, where we could use any animal stamp we wanted! How easy is that? :)

This card came together pretty quick and easy... :)

Birdie - Hero Arts
Birds and Branches
"Thank You" - Hero Arts Thank You Messages

TCP Tuesday Challenge - TCPTUES60

I finally got a moment to sit down and craft; and even though I was already SO LATE to this week TCP challenge, I still wanted to get in on the fun :)!

This week TCP challenge, was an inspirational challenge, where Toni pick this room showcasing some colorful fashion pieces and ask Ana to be this week hostess. Sorry guys for being so LATE :)! I decided to pull some of the colors from this fashion theme room - I tried using as many as I could make work and I ended up with using 5 colors!

I decided I needed a sketch to help me pull all those colors together, and I decided to use Sketch for You to Try (SFYTT) posted by Jen from i{heart}2stamp. After playing with the layout a bit, I decided that turning it on its side worked best for the image I wanted to use :)

I am still making birthday cards, and I really wanted to ink this TCP cake stamp from the Smells Like Cake set - I have used this set over and over; it is so versatile! I felt they also went well with the fashion theme of the inspirational photo.

This is my take on both challenges:

The doodle look of the PP from DCWV Citrus stack seem to go well with the birthday theme of the card. I added the black gems to the sentiment. I also used this new EK Success edge punch that got my attention because of its different design; I ended offsetting the edge to give this card more dimensional.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results :) and I think this could also work as a masculine birthday card - and I will be needing a few of those!

Cakes- The Cat's Pajamas
Smells Like Cake N-7543
"Happy Birthday!" - The Cat's Pajamas Smells Like Cake N-7543
EK Success edge punch
