TCP Challenge TCPTUES78 / Haunted Hop Style

Hope that those swanky lovers like me were able to join the Haunted Hop going on now until tomorrow!  Trick or Treating while hopping can pay off!  There is one set of Kitty Kat Pack given away and the winner will be announced on TCP blog, Dancing with Pajamas, this Friday, Oct. 2nd!  So if you haven't checked it out, it is not too late, hop starts here

It was a blast getting a chance to participate in the Haunted Hop as a former Swanky Stamper of the Month and as all of you can probably tell, I do enjoy participating in TCP Challenges.  For this week TCP Tuesday Challenge, hosted by our hopping hostess Susan, who challenged us to use any stamp or stamps from the TCP Fright Night set!

This is a tag card I made with left overs scraps from the two cards I made for the Haunted Hop.

I got quite a few comments on that "potion bottle" :) full of yummy skull candy - a witches brew for sure! That was my inspiration piece for this and two other cards; I basically kept this color pallete!  For those who asked, I bought this at Walmart - I fell in love with the shape and the candy inside!

Tag card came together quickly; really like that Martha Stewart goo edge punch and the way that orange glass glitter came out so defined on the image.  I stamped "Boo!" inside which also comes in this set; and just had FUN making this tag card!

Hope you are having a good week and I thank you for stopping by! :)

TCP Challenge TCPTUES77 / ESS Sketch #53

Doesn't it feel like summer seems to be winding down? I will be so sorry to see it go! :) I am trying to soak in the remaining fading days of summer.

Sprinkle seems to have the right idea here, lounging and sipping on some long island ice tea :) ...

The colors came for this week TCP Tuesday Challenge, hosted by Joanne whose blog, ...just a little something... is filled with creativity. Joanne had for us this yummy and bold color combination - black, melon pink and pumpkin! I thought I could still use this to make a FUN summer card, using the black only as the accent color.

I also wanted to play along with this week ESS Sketch #53, where Tracy Clemente continues her FUN sketches with this one, mixing different layers, a great spot to use a FUN edge punch and a nice flag shape accent to finish it off.

I used leftover scraps on this card! Seems to have collected a bit of that so I am trying to use them a bit at a time. I also used TCP German Glass Glitterin in a very shiny orange color; really like the texture and dimension I got using german glass which is a bit more coarse than regular glitter. I also used some gelly gems that reminded me of water drops. The sentiment is just right, and the flag tag on this layout is a great place for it.
Hope your weekend is relaxing and you get a moment to soak it up! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Encouragement / ESS BONUS Sketch

My sister is going through a few decision making moments right now so I wanted to send her a card to encourage her to keep sorting it out :)

This is what I came up with:

For inspiration, I turned to this week ESS Sketch, a BONUS SKETCH! Tracy Clemente extended her One Year of Sketches celebration in order to see if we can have 52 participants to have one lucky winner of a generous $52 spending spree to one of the following: All That Scraps, A Muse, The Cat's Pajamas, Stamping Bella, Memory Box, My Favorite Things OR Taylored Expressions! It looks like we did just that and can't wait to see who the winner will be! Of course I had only time to enter twice (there were no limits on the entries) but oh well, I'm glad I at least got to play with her last two sketches! :)

I also decided to play along with this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge, where the theme is Stitch It Up! - and we were ask to use stitching on our project; well since I'm not as comfortable with a sewing machine, but since this month is national sewing month, I decided to use faux stitching with a Copic 0.3 Multiliner (thanks Jenny Gropp :))

I chose this Hero Arts Asian Elements set because of this cute, wise looking owl :) , the sentiment came for a different Hero Arts set, Anytime Messages and I think the sentiment is just right!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You for some Disneyland Magic

My husband and his family are HUGE Disney fans - they love to visit the parks and different Disney resorts. Last month, my husband's brother was generous to share some of his Disney Club points with us, making it possible for us to go to Disneyland and stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. We had such an amazing time, the hotel was awesome, located conveniently near the two parks and Downtown Disney - we were able to maximize the few days we were there. Yeap, we had a pretty magical time - and we wanted to thank him and his wife for that!

So I made them this card to go with a few things we picked up for them at the Disney Downtown store.

I made a sleeve out of disney scrapbook paper I picked up a few years ago at Disney World. This is what the postcard style card looks like when pulled out. We wrote our message on the back.

I popped out my Mickey Font Cricut Cartridge for the Mickey hat, the ticket shape die cut. I used my Mickey and Friends Cartridge for the Mickey gloves :). I really like these two cartridges; has many useful cuts and brings out the child inside! :) For the sentiment, I used my newly purchased cartridge, Stamping Solution Cartridge. This cartridge has some great sentiment cuts that are very useful. This card came together quickly and fast with the help of Design Studio to gage sizes.

As you can see, I had a blast creating this card! And I am hoping they know how much we appreciate their gift to us.

Thanks for stopping by!

TCP Challenge TCPTUES76

For this week TCP Tuesday Challenge, Toni switched things a little bit on us and challenged us to use the following:

  • Embossing (dry or wet)
  • Bling
  • At least 3 circles

I took one look at the task list and just knew I was going to have some FUN playing!

Days ago I picked up this year Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More (Vol.4). I really enjoy flipping through the pages and while admiring all the great creations, I like getting some needed inspiration for the coming holidays! I pretty much had a similar reaction to my friend Tracy Falco --- it really did make me want to do some holiday cards!

So I was inspired to do this xmas tag for this week's challenge:

I did some dry embossing using my Cuttlebug Snow Dots embossing folder which is made up of circles and snowflakes. I used 3 circular gems to make a holly that meets both the 3 circles and the bling requirements. I also used atyouSpica to add more bling to Sprinkles. Doesn't Sprinkles look dashing with her xmas hat? She along with the FUN sentiment are from TCP Kitty Christmas set. All papers used were from last year leftover scraps; it was FUN to put them to use on this tag :)

Not sure what I'll do with this tag yet, but I'll probably put it on a gift bag or use it on a card.

Really had a great time doing a task list type challenge! Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by!

studio G Challenge Time SGC17 - tearing

{I found this post sitting in my drafts, no idea why it didn't get posted, but then again it has been a crazy week}

I decided to participate in this week SGC17 challenge that asked us to use tearing! This is my take on that FUN idea! :)

I found this FUN looking DCWV Christmas Stack paper and decided that those circles were a perfect spot for those tiny xmas images that come in these FUN studio G clear stamp sets. So I picked up a few at random and this is what I came up with :). They look like they can be part of the pattern paper. I used a EK edge punch to accent the tearing.

Quick card that was A LOT of FUN making! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Thinking of You / ESS Sketch #52

Tracy Clemente for Eat, Sleep, Stamp is celebrating a great milestone, a YEAR of weekly sketches! That is an awesome achievement; shows just how creative she is and I appreciate her sharing that creativity with the rest of us. I really enjoy her "keep it simple", clean style that she mixes with great colors, CUTE images and creative accents. She keeps it FUN and I look forward to her ESS Sketch every week! :)

And as part of her celebration, Tracy is offering a yummy oh so generous prize! If we get 52 participants to this sketch challenge, she is offereing a $52.00 spending spree to one of the following: All That Scraps, A Muse, The Cat's Pajamas, Stamping Bella, Memory Box, My Favorite Things OR Taylored Expressions. Not only is this very generous, but a great incentive... so if you would like to play along, check out her ESS Sketch #52 blog post. You have until next Wed, 9/23!

This is my take on the sketch:

The ESS Sketch #52 features a CIRCLE :) as the accent, how FUN is that? Immediately, my first thought was to keep it simple.

This Hero Arts owl image with the heart and swirls is ADORABLE... I used the colors from DCWV The Green Stack; really like the combination. The whimsical flower of the pattern paper matches this whimsical owl image. I used my cricut to cut an asymmetrical flower-like frame to match the flower in the pattern paper. Adding that Martha Stewart butterfly punch was a FUN touch that adds more dimension to the printed flower: )

Great time making this card; very relaxing :) - Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:

"thinking of YOU" - Hero Arts Friends
DCWV The Green Stack, DCWV Texture Paper

TCP Challenge TCPTUES75

This week TCP Tuesday Challenge is hosted by Leigh who has come up with a FUN sketch filled with some great layering apportunity.

Her is my take on this week challenge:

This is the sketch Leigh had for us to play with. This cute owl image comes from TCP Happy Camper set and I the sentiment made me think of a song he is playing, which led to the idea of using the music cuttlebug folder to emboss the background of one of the layers. I have been wanting to use this owl as owl images are one of my favorites. I just haven't had the chance until now. I am still getting use to coloring with my new copics and the blending marker; and even though I am not entirely happy with the way I colored the log he is sitting on, I am happy with the way the owl came out and how it matches the PP nicely.

I used these mosaic looking tiny tiles called Pez-a-Bling Acrylic Embellishments that I got from Marti at Pez-a-Doodle; they look pretty neat, and are fun to use; but not sure I capture it as good as a like on the picture.

Had a great time making this card; need to practice my coloring more :) Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a relaxing weekend!

studio G Challenge Time SGC16 - a sketchy

It has been a while since I have been able to join a studio G stamp challenge hosted by the Studio G Collectors group over at Paper Craft Planet. But I've continued to collect these cuties. With the much appreciated help of scrapping friends, I don't want to admit how many binders I have manage to fill with various series. It is so addictive! And is one of my vices:)

I decided to participate in this week SGC16 challenge that featured a sketchy :).

Here is my take on the sketch:

And here is the sketch brought to us by Michelle. Simple layout, made me see a lot of white space to do some stamping. I have been itching to use this Martha Stewart web edge punch! And studio G series 17 had this nice size spiders which I embellished with some black gems. In the same package, I found the corresponding sentiment -- it all just came together quick and easy!

Had a fun time stamping this card; so glad I got to use a few stamps from a growing studio G stamp collection! :)

Have a good one!

September Month Scrapbook Calendar Page

I got a somewhat early start on posting my scrapbook page for the month of September created for my 2009 S.E.I. Calendar.

I really like the colors of this pre-design layout- bright fall colors. I used those colors along with my darling Cricut to add my own touch to it.

Had a great time making this month page. Really impressed with the way the Lyrical Letters and Storybook cartridge cut the dies; even the sentiment "heart blessing" cut nicely even when the letters were so dainty :) . The die cuts really enhance the picture and matched the pattern paper nicely.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
"heart blessing" - cut at 2 1/8'' using Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge

TCP Challenge TCPTUES74 / ESS Sketch #51

It has been a busy week for me with work, a fridge watering my living room rug and my kitchen wood floor and some intense bed hunting - which is much harder than buying a house, I am convinced! With all that, I haven't had a chance to do any scrapping or blogging or even reading any of my blog reads. But enough, I need a break from all that! :)

I caught up with this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge, hosted by Jen from i{heart}2stamp, where she is challenging us to break out our TCP Halloween stamps and have a fright night (well in my case) of stamping! :)

This is my take on this week's challenge:

I started this card using this week's ESS Sketch #51, where Tracy Clemente is one sketch away from a year full of inspiring and very FUN sketches! And this one was no different! A simple blank canvas, with great areas to use punches! That was my first thought and everything else came together rather quickly.

Sprinkles dressed up as a ghost holding that trick or treat pumpkin bucket is FANTASTIC; both of these TCP images had not seen ink and I was eager to do so this time around. That star pumpkin image was fun to use in combination with Martha Stewart scary fence.

I had a FUN frightful night, stamping, coloring and overall de-stressing! :)

Have a great holiday weekend! And thank you for stopping by!
