TCP Tuesday Challenge - TCPTUES53

This week's TCP Tuesday Challenge, hosted by Susan at susiestampalot blog, is a color challenge :) As you can see, these are VERY BRIGHT colors - and delicious with names like Sunny Yellow, Pumpkin Orange and Rasberry Pink - but a bit outside what I normally use. The colors did look FUN - so I went for it. Besides, I'm eager to continue inking my TCP spring stamps.

To my surprise, I found that I didn't have any PP that matched these colors exactly! That came as a shock since I thought I had enough paper to last me a LONG TIME and a pretty good variety!!! So I turned to my solid colors and found the bright ones that came close to matching. Using no PP was strange but liberating !!! lol!

I tried to use a sketch but I could not get the colors to work with the sketch and without pp it proved to be DIFFICULT; so I scrapped that idea after hours of trying to make it work!!! It was one of those moments where nothing worked, I guess.

So I remembered that I use to have this really yellow purse size notebook in college where I kept EVERYTHING! The notebook had different color paper, orange, green, dark pink, blue, etc... to help keep me organize :) So that notebook inspired this card -

From the start, I knew I had to use Sprinkle with her stylish Spring bonnet from the Spring Fling set! And with school notebooks in mind, I wanted to use Happy Spring (also from the same set) --- as in Happy Spring break! I will be sending this to my friend that is in med school... she will love it! The colors are so her, lively! :) The edge is a Martha Stewart punch that I finally opened and used, and the torn notebook paper edge is one of the new ones from EK Success, great punches - I curled the edges for some added dimension.

A fun card once I just went with it :) ... Thanks for stopping by! Have a good one!

I love it Carol and so will your friend. I feel your pain. I was having issues with my card too. Sometimes you just have to walk away for awhile. *wink* But you struck gold with this baby. Great job. I especially love how you curled the paper.
Hugs,
Tracy
